Dear Working Mom,

You are not alone

The last three weeks has created more challenges on top of the ones you faced every day already. You are being asked to do more with so much less. Your resources and support that you relied on all of sudden disappeared. Your rhythm and expectations have been disrupted. You are parenting and working during a pandemic that has an impact on your mental health.

You are not failing you are prevailing under unthinkable circumstances. There are so many working moms struggling with the now very much visible load of motherhood and career. You are not alone, there is mothers just like you going through this. Your feelings are there because you want to perform but please know your best looks different right now. Know that your best while different is incredibly amazing.

You deserve grace. You deserve acknowledgment. You deserve time. You deserve to know you can’t do it all. You deserve to know your best is actually more than you need to do.

You are a foundation built on desires to exceed in motherhood and your career but it’s okay to lower your expectations on what that actually looks like. Ultimately you are exceeding at motherhood in the moments that will still happen; you do not have to create them they will organically be there. You are exceeding in your career by the survival of showing up and that in itself is incredible.

You desire connection but feel so exhausted that it seems impossible to make it happen. You need it! You deserve it. Its okay to ask for it even if it is in a text.  It doesn’t have to be a big group but you need a couple good friends to lean on to be in the trenches with you, to allow you to be heard, to give you a moment to step out from the chaos of the day, and to feel supported.

You are not alone mama we are right here with you and you are heard.

Always!
